Iran warns ill-intentioned enemies of rapid reaction to any possible aggression

Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Major-General Mohammad Baqeri on Saturday warned of rapid reaction to any possible aggression on Iran.

The chief of staff made the remarks speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the final stage of major military drills codenamed Great Prophet-15 in central province of Kerman, IRNA reported.

Enemies with ill intentions at sea will be completely destroyed by the most sophisticated missile power of the country, Major-General Baqeri said.

Iran’s homegrown and long-range missiles have destroyed mock enemy warships in a distance of 1,800 km with pin-point accuracy in a remote area in the northern Indian Ocean during the second stage of the drills, conducted by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC).

Reiterating that Iran has no intention to invade any country, Commander Baqeri said choosing targets at a distance of 1,800 kilometers in the drills were meaningful, carrying a message for enemies.

He added that the ongoing maneuvers which will continue for another five days displays the high preparedness of the Iranian armed forces on the ground, in the air and at sea as well as air defense and missile capability.

Staging the drills by IRGC forces is indicative of Iran’s high capability to make use of short-, medium- and long-range missiles to defend the Iranian national interests and territorial integrity, he said.
