Iran publishes book on Iraqi figures’ account of Lt. Gen. Soleimani

The cultural section of the Iranian Embassy in Iraq has published a book about Iran’s top anti-terror commander, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, titled ‘The Great General’, comprising compiled articles by Iraqi figures about the martyred commander’s personality.

Commenting on the book on Monday, Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Asadi-Movahhed, the managing director of the Alhoda International Cultural, Artistic and Publishing Institute, said the book was published in 1,000 copies on the occasion of the first anniversary of Lieutenant General Soleimani’s martyrdom in cooperation with his institute, IRNA reported.

Lieutenant General Soleimani was assassinated in a US airstrike at Baghdad airport on January 3, along with Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the second-in-command of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), and a number of their companions.

The Iranian general was a globally famous defense strategist who played a key role in the counter-terrorism operations that led to the collapse of the Daesh terror group in Iraq and Syria.

Asadi-Movahhed added the book contains a collection of complied articles by Iraqi figures about Lieutenant General Soleimani’s personality.

He noted that ‘The Great General’ is the first volume of a collection of books about Lieutenant General Soleimani, adding the other volumes will soon be published by his institute in cooperation with the cultural section of the Iranian Embassy in Iraq.

Asadi-Movahhed said prior to this, the cultural section of the Iranian Embassy in Iraq had published a book containing the wills of Lieutenant General Soleimani and Muhandis in Arabic.

He described as a great responsibility increasing public knowledge at an international level of the dimensions of Lieutenant General Soleimani’s personality, adding his institute will do its best to accomplish this important mission.

Asadi-Movahhed said Lieutenant General Soleimani belongs to all human beings, underprivileged people and Muslims across the globe.
