Iran sends final report of Ukrainian plane crash to related countries

Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization (CAO) announced that the organization’s accident investigation team has drafted the final accident report and sent it to the related countries for comments.


CAO issued its first annual statement on the anniversary of the tragic crash of Ukrainian Airlines Flight 752, Iran Press reported on Thursday.


Iran’s Civil Aviation Organization expressed its condolences and sympathy to the families of the passengers of Flight 752 of the Ukrainian Airlines, announcing that the organization’s accident investigation team has drafted the final its report and sent it to the related countries for comments.


In accordance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standards and Annex 13 of the Chicago Convention, the operating countries, aircraft manufacturers, and assistants in the accident investigation process can comment on the final report.


A draft report on Ukraine Airlines Flight 752 was sent to the related countries on December 29, 2020.


On January 08, 2020, a passenger plane belonging to Ukrainian Airlines was mistakenly shot down in Iran’s airspace shortly after its takeoff en route to Kiev. 167 passengers and nine crew members died in the incident.


Most of the passengers on the plane were Iranian nationals, and 32 of the passengers on the flight also had passports from five countries, including Canada, Afghanistan, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and Sweden.
