Iranian club Mes Rafsanjan was shortlisted for Best Female Club award at Futsalplanet Awards 2020.
This is the third nomination for the country at the sport’s most prestigious annual awards – the second for the southern Iranian club.
Mes goalkeeper Zeinab Karami had been named among the 10 candidates for the Best Female Goalkeeper prize, while Gelareh Nazemi also received a nomination in the Best Referee of the Year category.
Atefeh Rezaei’s side lifted the Iran’s Women’s Futsal Pro League trophy last season, having finished runner-up the year before.
Mes will see competition from nine other clubs for the award.
Russia’s FC Aurora, Benfica of Portugal, Budstar of Ukraine, as well as Spanish clubs Burela and Futsi Atletico are also among the 10-team list.
Brazil’s Leoas da Serra and Taboao da Serra, plus Japanese side SWH Ladies and Montesilvano of Italy complete the list.
The winner of the Best Female Club prize will be introduced for the first time in 21 editions of the awards.
